Obituary
The shareholders, Supervisory Board, Management Board and employees of GET AG are deeply saddened by the death of their Supervisory Board member Helmut Sendner. The founder of the trade publisher Energie & Management and editor of the newspaper of the same name passed away during the night of July 16, 2025 at the age of 77.

Helmut Sendner had been a member of the Supervisory Board of GET AG since 2007. As a journalist, publisher, managing director, doer and visionary, he was one of the most prominent figures in the energy sector. Helmut Sendner followed the changes in the industry over the past decades with great passion and dedication. Since 1976, he had been writing about the energy world, which he always found exciting. In 1994, together with his wife Gisela, he founded the trade publishing company Energie & Management. He quickly recognized the Internet as a new distribution channel and adapted the publishing business accordingly.
Starting in 2017, Helmut Sendner gradually withdrew from operational responsibilities to spend more time with his wife and family. He handed over the management of the publishing house to his son Timo Sendner. However, he himself remained a member of the jury for the “Energy Manager of the Year” award - an award that he initiated in 2001 and which remained very close to his heart until the end.
"We are saddened and deeply affected by the death of Helmut Sendner. He carried out his duties as a member of the Supervisory Board with great commitment, valuable contributions and a keen eye until the very end, thereby also contributing to the positive development of our company. We will miss and remember him not only as a valued expert on the energy sector, but also as a personally very open, helpful, enthusiastic, critical, always constructive and truly warm-hearted person. Our special condolences go to his wife Gisela, his son Timo with his wife Atousa and his two grandchildren," said Dr. Christian Backmann and Lars Quiring, members of the Executive Board of GET AG.
